Virtual Training Series: Social Media 101

Are you using social media effectively to take action, recruit new supporters, and build power online?

Most people use social media, and that includes people in your community. Social media can be a great tool to reach people who care about your issue and want to take action, especially now that we’re not knocking on doors and doing in-person outreach.

Check out the Social Media 101 training from our Virtual Training Series to learn more about how to use social media to take action in your community. The recording is available online.

In this meeting we answer questions like: What social media sites should we use? How should we use social media in our online organizing? Should we make a Facebook page or a Twitter account? Is a website right for our group?

In this training you’ll hear from Diane Cotter of Your Turnout Gear and PFOA, who is working to end toxic PFAS contamination in firefighters’ gear and beyond, Andrea Honore, a resident of Weymouth, MA and a vocal activist against the fracked gas compressor station proposed for her community, and Shaina Kasper, Vermont and New Hampshire State Director at Community Action Works.

This training is the second in our Virtual Organizing Training Series. You’ll see more online trainings coming soon for making change in this new and challenging moment. See the full list of trainings.
