Training Series: Holding Online Actions and Events
Just because public hearings and other events are happening online doesn’t mean you can’t have an impact. But it does mean you need to prepare a little differently.
Check out the recording of our training on Holding Online Actions and Events, the part of our virtual training series, to learn how.
We’ll share stories from online actions and events from the past six months and tips and tools for organizing powerful online events, from organizing people to attend public hearings to holding your own events and meetings online.
We’ll also answer questions like: How can you organize your group to go to an online event like a selectboard meeting or a public hearing? How can you organize your own online event like a film screening, an informational meeting, or phone bank?
In this training you’ll hear from Elizabeth Deutsch, a community leader with a long history of organizing in-person events. At the beginning of social distancing, she helped organize public participation in a town selectboard meeting and the first virtual public hearing with Vermont’s Department of Environmental Conservation to stop pesticides from being dumped in her neighborhood lake.
You’ll also hear from Shaina Kasper, Vermont and New Hampshire State Director and Hayley Jones, Vermont and New Hampshire Community Organizer at Community Action Works who will talk about holding your own online events, from celebrations to webinars.
This training is the fourth in our Virtual Organizing Training Series. Watch this training and see all trainings.
