Dominic Chacón, (he/they), is the Organizing Coordinator. Before joining Community Action Works he was an activist/organizer along the U.S. Mexico border with over 10 years experience working with low-income, Latinx, and Native communities. After studying Environmental Science at the University of Texas at El Paso, he worked on environmental campaigns and their intersection with education, immigration, and economic justice, including coordinating mutual aid efforts for immigrants, leading direct actions to stop gentrification, and developing cross state campaigns to fight global polluters such as JP Morgan. As a two-spirit, multi-racial organizer, Dominic brings a diverse perspective and fierce compassion in the collective struggle for mutual liberation. When Dominic is not organizing you can find him enjoying the outdoors, cooking, and making art.
