What is happening with the oil tanks in South Portland?
Last spring, South Portland neighbors were shocked to learn that Global Partners—the energy company that owns 12 oil tanks in South Portland—had been charged with violating the Clean Air Act for years.
We’re working side by side with our friends at Protect South Portland to make sure this polluter is held accountable and our air is protected.
But we need your help! Join Protect South Portland at a Community Meeting on Tank Emissions to hear about what’s happening and what you can do about it.
Community Meeting on Tank Emissions
Sunday, March 15th, 3:30-5:00 p.m.
South Portland Community Center (Senior Wing)
21 Nelson Road, South Portland, ME
RSVP on Facebook.
Since 2013, Global Partners has emitted volatile organic compounds—known to cause everything from headaches to cancer—into the air at more than twice the rate allowed by its permit, raising issues about the safety of the operation overall.
Join us for this community meeting to get caught up on what’s happening, get your questions answered, and plan for mobilizing our community to attend an upcoming public meeting with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
