On Oct 6, 2018 from 10 -2 PM at the Marblehead Community Charter School (17 Lime St, Marblehead, MA), a Sustainability Fair, hosted by Sustainable Marblehead will offer our community models, ideas, and practices, both systemic and personal, for living so that meeting our needs will not outweigh the ability of future generations to do the same.
For Schedule and more information: https://www.sustainablemarblehead.org/sustainability-fair
Right now the Fair has five arms.
-An Electric Vehicle Show at which participants can test drive an EV or e-bike and speak with manufacturers about them.
-Speaker/Performers Series with world class presenters who will address everything from ocean ecology, to bringing your home to net-zero, to a Mass legislative update from Lori Ehrlich, our state representative, to a town panel from the Health, Water, and Light Commissions. Our performers are nationally recognized storyteller, Jackson Gillman, and brilliant singer/songwriter Amanda Maffei, and the world renown, Alex the Jester.
-Workshops/Demonstrations will include learning about air source heart pumps, building raised bed gardens, and much more.
-Vendors and ‘Tablers’ offering information about everything from political action to composting, and products that can assist in living a more sustainable life.
-Education Alive: An opportunity for all our town schools to share what they have been doing to bring sustainability into their curriculum, building, and meals service, games and activities for families, solar demonstrations, and a show of posters from our poster contest.
Midday will be the Poster Award Ceremony. High School students, under the direction of Andrew Scoglio, will sing, Alex the Jester will Jest and Lori Ehrlich, our representative to the State Legislature will present the awards.
